ORE Catapult enables innovation and accelerates the development of offshore renewable energy, growing businesses and creating jobs throughout the UK.
Established in 2013, we exist to accelerate the development of offshore wind, wave and tidal energy technologies in the UK.
Through our world-class testing and research programmes and our unique centres of excellence, we work with industry, academia and government to improve technology reliability and enhance knowledge, directly impacting the cost of offshore renewable energy.
We deliver products and services in four main areas:
We are a solutions provider for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), providing solutions to validate designs, manufacturing processes and product reliability through innovative test set-ups and test methodologies.
Find out moreWe are an independent partner able to convene the sector. We use our expertise in testing, validation and demonstration to de-risk the introduction of new technologies.
Find out moreWe work with the UK’s innovative high-growth-potential supply chain and SMEs to develop and de-risk their products and services, accelerating their deployment to the market.
Find out moreAs we are part funded by InnovateUK, we work closely with government agencies across all of our primary capabilities. Learn how here.
Find out moreWe work with academia and the wider research community to undertake applied research to develop new products and services for the offshore renewables sector.

At ORE Catapult, we have multiple funding programmes for those either looking to enter the offshore wind supply chain or those with an innovative technology or product looking for help to develop:
Launch Academy is ORE Catapult’s flagship technology accelerator programme, designed to enhance the UK’s offshore wind supply chain, enable greater UK content and support cost reduction by identifying innovative solutions to real industry problems.
The objective of the Fit 4 Offshore Renewables (F4OR) programme is to support the development of an increasingly competent, capable and competitive UK offshore renewable energy supply chain – maximising opportunity for the UK supply chain, both domestically and globally.
The Offshore Wind Growth Partnership (OWGP) promotes closer collaboration across the supply chain, implements structured productivity improvement programmes, and facilitates shared growth opportunities between developers and the supply chain.
Our reports and research papers are designed to provide you with relevant analysis and insight on key industry issues.
They cover a broad range of topics – including economic analysis, O&M best practices, financial modelling, electricity distribution system mapping, cyber-security requirements, and much more.
We have a team of over 300 people, with extensive technical and research capabilities, industry experience and track record.
Find out moreORE Catapult’s ReEnergise podcast series is the place to discover more about emerging technology innovation in offshore renewables and the way we meet our future energy needs.
