Offshore Anemometry Platform

Offshore Anemometry PlatformThe National Offshore Anemometry Hub (NOAH) is currently the only offshore open access platform of its size in the world, located 3 nautical miles off Blyth.

The open access platform provides wind resource and environmental data to validate turbine demonstrations on the proposed site, with the instrumentation and data management capability to be made available for future research collaborations.

The facility enables vital testing, calibration and verification of technologies in order to prove reliability, data availability and performance in a remote offshore environment as well as evaluating environmental conditions, observing marine conditions and collecting wildlife data for research and development purposes.
