Offshore Wind O&M Strategy Manager

Andy joined the ORE Catapult in February 2014. He is Strategy Manager for the Operational Performance Team and has developed the strategic business and innovation plan for ORE Catapult in the areas of offshore wind project development, operations and maintenance.

Andy is looking at how robotics and autonomous systems can support offshore renewables, in particular, the test and validation requirements for these systems to meet industry requirements.

Prior to joining the ORE Catapult, Andy was a Project Engineer for a test and research organisation, specialising in oil and gas and low carbon technologies.

Andy has experience with a wide range of projects in the field of offshore renewables. Examples include autonomous systems for O&M, condition monitoring, wind farm yield assessment, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling and leading edge erosion of wind turbine blades. Andy is a chartered engineer with a MEng in Aeronautical Engineering, from the University of Glasgow, and an MSc in Renewable Energy Systems and the Environment, from the University of Strathclyde.
