Owen is Team Leader for the Turbines section of ORE Catapult’s Engineering function. A Chartered Engineer, he has been working in the wind power industry for over 10 years and has delivered a diverse range of engineering, technical and advisory projects at all phases of the project lifecycle. He joined ORE Catapult in January 2015. Owen was previously a senior engineer at the renewables consultancy SgurrEnergy, where he was responsible for the management and delivery of wind measurement services projects for clients. This included projects offshore in the UK and internationally, as well as the management of the company’s fleet of Lidar remote sensing systems.

Having worked in hands on roles with measurement systems and instrumentation, he brings a direct understanding of the practicalities of offshore wind operations. Owen has been a driving force in the development of ORE Catapult’s O&M modelling capability and helps innovators and established clients to understand the current and future landscape of offshore wind operations and maintenance. He has also been responsible for projects which seek to aid Owner/Operators optimisation of operations and maintenance interventions by conducting applied research and modelling to improve cost benefit understanding.
