The CEO of the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult, Andrew Jamieson, was in Blyth today visiting the National Renewable Energy Centre’s (Narec) world-leading testing facilitates and meeting some of its newest recruits.
The visit follows the announcement that the two organisations are merging with immediate effect creating a national champion for the development and cost reduction of offshore wind, wave and tidal energy across the UK.
He toured the facility with outgoing Narec CEO Andrew Mill and Ronnie Campbell, MP for Blyth Valley. He also met three of Narec’s newest apprentices; Vinny Haliburton (19) and Matthew Eltringham (19) from Blyth, and George Hedley (18) from Whitley Bay. They began apprenticeship with Narec this week.
