ORE Catapult's facilities are a significant enabler to accessing the UK's vast offshore resources.
The Crown EstateTesting Services
As wind farms continue to be deployed further offshore and into deeper waters with increasingly challenging conditions, ORE Catapult’s offshore anemometry platform enables clients to test, calibrate and validate remote sensor technologies in a representative Round 3 environment.
Clients can prove reliability, data availability and performance, as well as evaluate environmental conditions, observe marine conditions and collect wildlife data for R&D purposes.
- Hosting floating lidar trials

Lidar Verification

Wood’s Galion lidar undergoing testing at Levenmouth.
Our onshore met mast at Levenmouth enables the testing, calibration and verification of onshore lidar systems. With access to high-quality wind resources and environmental data, developers and manufacturers can compare and verify new remote sensing techniques against traditional methods. Contact our Data and Digital team to find out more.
