Introduction to offshore wind for the aerospace sector

Website visit Address Virtual Event Start November 12, 2020 - 1:00 pm End November 12, 2020 -2:00 pm

ADS Scotland is delighted to partner with the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult (ORE Catapult) to offer companies an introduction to the offshore wind sector targeted at companies from aerospace which are looking to diversify into low carbon energy sectors such as offshore wind.

The global market for cheap low carbon energy has been largely unaffected by COVID-19 and the offshore wind sector is growing rapidly to meet this demand. Over £40bn of contracts will be placed in the UK alone between now and 2030. This event will provide participants with an introduction to the offshore wind sector including new opportunities, technologies of relevance and support available to companies wishing to take their interest further.

The offshore wind sector is growing rapidly from 10GW installed capacity in 2020 to 40GW by 2030. The UK Prime Minister reaffirmed his commitment to the sector and announced a £160m fund for port infrastructure that will enable increased UK manufacturing. The Offshore Wind Sector Deal that was agreed in 2019 sets a target of 60% UK content in UK projects as well as annual exports of £2.6bn by 2030. These ambitious targets provide new opportunities for new supply chain entrants from adjacent sectors including aerospace.
