This public summary report, in partnership with Flotation Energy, Scottish Enterprise, Seaway7 and Oil State Industries (OSI) Renewables, presents the findings of a collaborative study undertaken to evaluate the life cycle value of OSI Renewables’ grounded and deepwater wind substructure – the Fixed Tension Leg Platform (FTLP).

In particular, the study compares the FTLP to conventional semi-submersible floating foundations. This work reponds to evolving policy directions, such as the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero’s consultation on Auction Round 7 of the CfD scheme, which aims to incentivise innovative and cost-effective floating wind solutions to unlock new offshore wind areas.
