FLOATING WIND SERVICES

Floating offshore wind (FOW) has the potential to open up access to deeper waters, further from shore, which have previously been out of reach to offshore wind technology, and help the UK maximise the opportunity to unlock a greater installed capacity.

The UK already leads the way in FOW and is likely to play an increasing role in the UK’s energy mix beyond 2030. Over a short period of time, floating wind has become recognized as a critical development within the industry as an enabler of Net Zero and continued growth.

This positive backdrop means that largescale floating wind projects can be expected well before the end of this decade. However, the industry must move fast to maximise the benefits available – for the environment and for the economy.
