North East Offshore Wind Innovation and Demonstration (NEOWIND) is a supply chain support and technology demonstration programme designed to boost growth and productivity in North East England’s offshore wind and subsea sectors.
Funded by the North East Mayor – through the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority – and delivered by ORE Catapult, the programme aims to accelerate the development and demonstration of innovative offshore renewable energy technologies through a combination of research and development grant funding and specialist business support.
The programme will be delivered over the course of three years (April 2026 – March 2029) with support available to companies across North East England (Northumberland, Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Gateshead, Sunderland & County Durham).
NEOWIND builds upon the six years of supply chain support delivered as part of the TIGGOR programme. It is designed to support businesses developing innovative products for the offshore wind sector in North East England and deliver local economic benefit.
