The Wind Innovation Hub is an independent collaborative partnership designed to accelerate innovation, industrial growth, and strategic coordination across the UK’s offshore wind sector.

 

The UK is home to one of the world’s most dynamic offshore renewable energy sectors, having built a global leadership position in offshore wind.Maintaining that leading position requires faster innovation, stronger collaboration and better support for the technologies and businesses shaping the next generation of projects. We will need continuous innovation, collaboration and investment.

 

Funded by Innovate UK, the Wind Innovation Hub has been created to do exactly that, partnering the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult, NCC and NMIS and combining more than 45 years of combined innovation and technology expertise—spanning offshore renewable energy, advanced composites, digital and sustainable manufacturing, and industrial scale-up.

 

Anchored within existing national innovation infrastructure, the Hub will act as a focal point for identifying and aligning critical sector innovation and R&D priorities and assets. Convening expertise and innovation funding via a coordinated overarching strategy designed to deliver targeted activities that unlock the next generation of offshore wind capability.
