New and existing robotics, autonomous systems (RAS) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies can be used to improve the operations and maintenance of offshore renewable energy infrastructure.

 

 

If the UK is to meet its Net Zero targets by 2050, our offshore wind capacity needs to expand more than seven times over. This future scale-up of operations, pushing into ever deeper waters, will need the help of RAS for everything from design to maintenance and repair.

ROBOTIC TESTING & ENGINEERING FACILIITIES

We provide world-leading test, validation and demonstration facilities for the advancement of robotics technology, as well as data and digital integration. Our primary demonstration sites in Blyth, Grimsby and Levenmouth, in addition to our regional operations around the UK, provide extensive support for technology developers, SMEs and innovators to de-risk and prove performance of early-stage and mature robotic concepts.

OUR SERVICES

DARE Centre, Blyth Testing and Validation at ORE Catapult

DARE CENTRE

Includes a robotics assembly bay, an airborne robotics test zone, three dry docks with 20,000m3 capacity and test control rooms linked to the docks via a live environment monitoring system.

National Offshore Anemometry Hub, Blyth, ORE Catapult

NOAH

Fixed platform located off the coast of Blyth providing representative conditions of a structure located adjacent to the Blyth Offshore Demonstrator windfarm.

The 5G testbed allows to test and demonstrate robotics and autonomous systems within Grimsby dock and the Lynn and Inner Dowsing offshore wind farm.
