Arne is the Lead Engineer for the Marine Energy Engineering Centre of Excellence (MEECE) in Wales, where he manages the engineering team to provide technical solutions to marine energy and related challenges.
Arne has spent the previous 13 years on the Isle of Lewis, Scotland, leading a marine energy research group, and also running his own marine services company. As a chartered Mechanical and Marine Engineer, Arne has been involved in a wide range of both onshore and offshore wave and tidal energy projects, including commercial diving, ROV operations, general data acquisition, small marine construction works and salvage.
His key strengths are marine resource characterisation, data acquisition, project delivery, sea trials and marine operations.
Arne is a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and the Institute of Marine, Science & Technology (IMarEST). He has published numerous academic papers and holds a PhD in Energy Engineering, plus further qualifications in Mechanical Engineering and Electronics Engineering.
