Thomas is Head of Commercial in the Technology Development Directorate. He is responsible for developing the future business for ORE Catapult’s extensive testing facilities at Blyth, working with clients to develop bespoke technology development, validation and research programmes. In addition, Thomas leads on the future strategy and development of the testing facilities including the development of new capabilities to meet the future needs of the offshore wind market.
Thomas originally joined ORE Catapult to lead on business development for applied research programmes in 2019, this included developing and securing multi-million pound programmes focussed on new manufacturing and material applications to support the wind sector. Prior to joining ORE Catapult, he worked as a research scientist in the defence and printed electronics sectors, leading advanced materials development for international research projects and latterly managing multiple CR&D and commercial research projects with industrial partners. Thomas has a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Bath.
