ORE Catapult welcomes UK Government CfD announcement for less established technologies

Commenting on the UK Government’s announcement today that £557m will go to support new renewable energy projects, and that the next Contracts for Difference auction will be held in spring 2019, Andrew Jamieson, Chief Executive of ORE Catapult, said:

“Today’s announcement on a new Contracts for Difference Auction for offshore wind is welcome. It will bolster confidence in the sector, enabling the industry to continue to drive innovation and build a strong UK supply chain, which is essential for continued cost reduction, job creation and powering the UK economy.
