Technology, Innovation and Green Growth for Offshore Renewables (TIGGOR) was a £9m North East England supply chain acceleration and technology demonstration programme delivered by the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult and funded by the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority (North East MSA). TIGGOR was sponsored by offshore wind project developers EDF Power Solutions and Equinor.

The programme aimed to support the North East offshore renewable energy supply chain to develop, de-risk and accelerate the market readiness of novel offshore renewable technologies and innovations, intended to solve real world industry challenges. Over a six year period, TIGGOR supported a total of 88 unique businesses in the North East of England.

Launched in 2020, the TIGGOR programme was delivered by ORE Catapult in three iterations, TIGGOR 1 (2020-2023), TIGGOR 2 (2023-2025) and TIGGOR 2.5 (2025-2026), and focused on the North of Tyne region. The programme aimed to support the existing North East offshore renewable energy supply chain and encourage new entrants to the sector from adjacent industries.

Since 2020, TIGGOR provided grant funding to companies in the region who aligned with the industry sponsor requirements and provided tailored business support to innovative businesses. This initiative has directed £4.2 million in shared research and development funding to 17 research and development projects, supported the creation of 36 full time jobs, 25 apprenticeships and traineeships, the introduction of 23 new products to market and supported 84 companies with non-financial business support.

From 2023, the TIGGOR programme worked with regional higher education institutions to help bridge the gap between academia and industry. This was achieved through part-funding a PhD student, providing guest lectures and dissertation topics to undergraduate students, and supporting a pipeline of continuous professional development and industry standard qualifications.
