Floating Offshore Wind Centre of Excellence – Dynamic Cabling Project Outcomes and Expected ‘Size of the Prize’

The Floating Offshore Wind Centre of Excellence (FOW CoE) recently completed a study on dynamic inter-array cable systems and ancillary components.
This project, supported by Peritus International, investigated the design requirements for dynamic cable systems in UK FOW projects and carried out a state-of-the-art market review. The project also assessed the future demand for components and services out to 2050, and the readiness of the supply chain to deliver against this. The work was introduced at a previous webinar held earlier in 2021.
To coincide with the release of the public report ‘FOW Dynamic Cabling Market Projections’ the FOW CoE would like to share the project outcomes with the supply chain and wider industry, and to provide an overview of the follow-on project work planned which is a technology development and qualification programme.
This session will be delivered by Ellen Jump, Project Engineer and Charlotte Strang-Moran, Electrical Engineer – ORE Catapult; and they will be joined by John Stansfield – Discipline lead (umbilicals, power cables and flexibles) at BP. John will provide some insight from a developer and project partner perspective on the key findings of this work. The session will conclude with a panel Q&A.
Attend this webinar to learn more about the outcomes of the recently completed FOW CoE project on dynamic inter-array cables, particularly the projected demand on the supply chain for cables and ancillary components from now to 2050. Also learn more about the planned future technology qualification workstreams.
