The Edinburgh YMP is offering you the chance to talk to and hear from the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult about their 7MW wind turbine based off the coast of Fife. Presented by the project Wood Team Leader, Alasdair Fulton, and the ORE Catapult Project Engineer, Lorna Bennet, we have the chance to hear from them on the delivery of over 200 R&D projects and their experiences in working on the turbine and developing next-generation offshore wind technologies.

Lorna Bennet

Lorna graduated with a BEng in Product Design Engineering in 2011 and joined ORE Catapult in June 2016 as a Mechanical Engineer in the Operational Performance Directorate. In the last 3 years, she has been working with Wood on the planning and delivery of over 200 R&D projects, technology demonstations and educational site visits to the LDT.

Alasdair Fulton

After graduating as a mechanical engineer, Alasdair worked for 8 years in the oil and gas sector before returning to Strathclyde to do an MSC in Offshore Renewable Energy. Following this he joined Wood as an asset engineer. In this role he has been responsible for the operations and maintenance of LDT and the many R&D projects carried out.
