SDI – Global Floating Offshore Wind Conference

Website visit Address Virtual Event Start July 6, 2021 - 9:00 am End July 6, 2021 -11:00 am

This two-hour virtual conference, organised by Scottish Development International, the Scottish Government’s international economic agency, will introduce Scotland’s capabilities in floating offshore wind to policymakers, project investors, developers and contractors worldwide.

Scotland is home to the world’s first floating offshore wind farm – Hywind, and currently the world’s largest floating offshore wind farm – Kincardine. In the year to March 2021, Hywind hit a new highest capacity factor record of 57.1% against a UK offshore wind average of around 40%.

You will hear from leading Scottish organisations working on driving down the costs of floating offshore wind, and how Scotland’s first-class supply chain, ranging from substructure design and mooring, to dynamic cabling and fishing liaison, can support floating offshore wind projects in international markets.
