The WaveMaster Zero C Research and Development Project aims to explore a range of zero-carbon fuel systems that could be used in a Service Operation Vessel (SOV), using Bibby MS’s WaveMaster hull design as a basis. All alternative fuel options are being considered, including:
• Biofuels
• Hydrogen
• Ammonia
• Battery power
• Methanol
Each of these options is undergoing a technical, environmental, legislative and economic review, with the view to developing a roadmap for the successful implementation of one of these solutions.
This workshop is part of a series targeted at different stakeholders of the vessel operation and fuelling sector. These workshops are crucial for getting industry’s view on where the future market is headed, as well as the opportunities and challenges a shift to zero-emission vessels may create.
The aim of this workshop is to hear the views of port owner operators and traditional marine fuel providers and bunkerers on the subject of zero-emission vessels. This will help inform our review of the available options and the development of a implementation roadmap.
