Campus Media have brought together the awe inspiring Sophie Harker, Amber O’Connor, Melissa Ahmed, Nicola Grahamslaw & Lorna Bennet to share their journey and offer their insights to empower you to follow your career aspirations and make a real difference in equalising the gender balance in this typically male-dominated industry. You will have your chance to ask the employer panel all of those burning questions and get their advice direct.

Lorna Bennet, Project Engineer, ORE Catapult
Lorna has over nine years’ experience in mechanical design engineering, manufacture, analysis and project delivery of offshore systems. She joined the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult in September 2016 as a Mechanical Engineer in the Operational Performance Directorate and works on a wide variety of exciting projects in wind, wave and tidal power.
In 2018 Lorna won a Royal Academy of Engineering Ingenious Award to develop a plan of engagement with local primary schools. In collaboration with a number of local and national charities she has driven community engagement, promoting STEM careers and the importance of sustainability across the country. This led to Lorna being awarded the IET Young Woman Engineer of the Year Women’s Engineering Society (WES) Prize in December 2018, being recognised as a WATC Rising Star 2019 in Science & Engineering and also as a finalist for the Contribution to Skills Award at the Scottish Green Energy Awards in 2019.
