Hyunjoo Lee is the Head of the Turbine Systems team at ORE Catapult, responsible for developing engineering services for the turbine systems of offshore wind and tidal energy since 2014.
He began his career in 2000 as a project engineer in wind turbines design and development, managing several key wind power development projects ranging from 750kW to 20MW.
With over 23 years of experience, Hyunjoo has held engineering and management roles, specializing in optimizing gears, bearings, shafts, supporting structures, lubrication systems, bolts connections, project planning, and team management.
Hyunjoo holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and an MEng in Manufacturing Process and is a member of the BSI Committee and the IEC TC88 Committee.
At ORE Catapult, Hyunjoo leads the Turbine Systems team to improve the quality of the turbine system level evaluation process and develop new technologies to reduce the cost of offshore energy.
